About Us

We are a proud dealer for THE HAY HUT, an all weather enclosed horse hay feeder.

(It also is suitable for Alpacas, we call it a Paca Shack!)

Hay Hut in Wilmington, NC

The Hay Hut is priced at $650 + S&H , but due to the increase in petroleum products the Hay Hut will go up in cost by $30 very soon, we have only a few left at the $650 price, so give us a call.

The Hay Hut pays for itself in less than one year!  (See below!)

Great view of several pens with Hay Huts in each!

The Hay Hut capitalizes on the economy of round bales, eliminates "waste" and "food fights".  (The Hay Hut can also be used for stacks of conventional square bales.) Your hay is protected from inclement weather and the ravages of horses "pooping" on it or using it as bedding. The "waste"  from feeding a round bale to horses outdoors can be in excess of one third of the bale, and is virtually eliminated by the Hay Hut!  And, the design of the Hay Hut provides the horses with separated access to the hay through its eight windows, thus eliminating those nasty "food fights". Whether you are feeding square or round bales, the Hay Hut will save you money and time!

The Hay Hut is a robust, durable, and UV stabilized hay feeder made of polyethylene.  It cannot rust and does not require any maintenance unlike metal feeders. The Hay Hut is available in two colors, forest green and black.

In due deferrence to the vital importance of recycling products, we do offer black units at $25 less than our green model.  These are made largely from the material cut out from the floor and the eight windows - the material is identical and the performance is the same, perhaps even better as black dye is added to allow for any variations in color and makes for greater UV stabilization. There is no difference in internal heat build-up because the warm air spills easily out of the top of the windows without affecting the hay inside.

WE ARE PROUD TO BE ABLE TO SAY -  HAYHUTS ARE MADE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!  THE HARDWARE IS 'BAGGED' BY DEVELOPMENTALLY DISABLED AMERICANS!

DIMENSIONS -  84' deep x 72" wide x 84' high

WEIGHT -  230 lbs

MATERIAL - medium density polyethylene for strength and flexibility.

COLORS - Forest Green or Black (recycled material of equal strength and durability) - special orders possible

The Hay Hut is a full 84 inches in depth so that it can accommodate the largest of round bales now being produced in the USA, or, up to twenty conventional square bales, or, the majority of "big" square bales. This additional depth also allows it to be easily "pushed back" over very large bales, even if they have been placed on a pallet, without catching the top lip of the feeder on the bale.

It is 84 inches high so that there is plenty of headroom for the use of a pallet while still allowing for good  airflow  and cooling over the top of the bale.

The width of 72 inches allows up to three units (in six halves) to be transported easily in a standard bed pick-up truck.

The Hay Hut is delivered in halves to reduce shipping costs and a single half unit can be ordered.  A half unit can be mounted against a wall or hard structure for use with conventional square bales.  It can also be mounted against a fence with a locally purchased plywood back attached for weather protection. This half unit measures 42" x 72" x 84" and has four feeding windows.

The Hay Hut ships in two halves with simple build instructions and takes approximately 30 minutes to bolt together. It is very easy to move, manage, load and maintain. The Hay Hut is shipped with all assembly hardware and a lifting eye for relocation purposes. It can also be relocated with a round bale inserted inside the unit.

Hayhuts are warranted for 1 year.
