Sabra Morgan has been involved in equine activities for more than 48 years. She has successfully ridden, trained and shown hunters and jumpers, speed horses, and several types of pleasure horses. She has shown Quarter Horses and Paints at halter. Sabra has also been breeding and raising Quarter Horses and Paints for more than 35 years and has produced many Superior halter and performance stock. Most of this was accomplished while serving the United States Government, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in the field of Air Traffic Control. Sabra retired from the FAA with 33 years of service in 2005 and came to the Carolinas where she and her husband Ron have built a superb professional equine facility. Ron Morgan retired from the FAA as the manager of the Air Traffic Control Organization in 2001 and has created his own aviation consulting business. Both he and Sabra continue to work in the aviation environment providing expertise and support to both industry and government. Together, the Morgans have been raising hay on their ranch in Fair Bluff since building there in 2007. It is a family activity for them, and truly a labor of love. The 50 acre ranch location is typical Carolina beauty and charm, and it is a real pleasure to watch the growth of the coastal bermuda and rye each year. The Morgans produce enough hay to serve their own equine needs as well as an additional 4000-5000 bales for commercial sales. The hay operation is managed to produce the finest quality horse hay possible through timely fertilization, mineral management, weed control and optimum harvesting cycles, for each and every cutting. For validation, samples from each cutting are sent to Clemson University to be tested. With this level of effort, the Morgans ensure that the protein content, food value, and digestible nutrients are of the highest quality for horses! Currently, the Morgans are raising a few select paint horse performance babies each year. This is also a labor of love for Ron and Sabra. The young horses are haltered within a few days of foaling, then handled twice every day as they are led in and out to pasture with their dam. This handling makes these young horses very manageable and gives them a leg up when their real performance training begins. The Morgans have a terrific farm manager, Allyson Strickland, who has been involved with livestock most of her life. With Allyson's help, Ron and Sabra manage the horse and hay production themselves. They are personally involved in every aspect of the farm and ensure that only the best quality hay and the finest young performance horse prospects are produced for sale. The Morgans invite you to contact them and drop in to see the ranch. They always enjoy showing people around and greeting new customers.
